This topic is so good, I have to come back to it. Plus I have something to share…
I had a lovely conversation with my mom on Mother’s Day. It was special to reconnect one on one with her!
I asked her if she still has the “Bloom Where You Are Planted” trinket and she said she did, so I asked her to send a photo.
Here it is! She says the text has gotten faded over the years so it has had a few facelifts. I just LOVE IT! Thank you for sending this, mom!
Isn’t it interesting, the impact such tiny things have in our lives? I don’t recall ever discussing the message with her, it was just there for us to see and contemplate.
And isn’t it interesting to notice the different interpretations over time? For years I focused on the “planted” part, but now I see it is about the “bloom”. “Bloom where you are planted”, versus “Bloom where you are planted.”
Sweet window ornament, you have found a way to continue to bloom after all these years. Maybe not in appearance, but definitely in meaning and gravity. Even in your old age you continue to plant my seeds to bloom, and like Johnny Appleseed I’m spreading your wisdom to all that read.
