Introducing…Rainbow Milk! Ok, not really, but it sure looks like it! This is actually a batch of homemade almond milk made using our brand new favorite kitchen tool – The Almond Cow. Read on to learn more…
Almond Milk
We are major almond milk drinkers. In our protein shakes (aka Brown Drink), on cereal, to cook with – you name it and we probably use almond milk in it somehow. Until a few days ago, I would go to Trader Joe’s about once a month and basically clear their shelves and fill an entire shopping cart with almond milk boxes. One time I did a preorder, but they messed it up and I ended up clearing their shelves, anyway. At least I tried to be courteous. In any case, we consumed a LOT of almond milk and threw out a LOT of empty containers afterwards.
But not anymore!!
Introducing…
Almond Cow
I saw this online in October and after looking at the reviews, information, videos, and recipes, I bought it. I wrapped it up for Christmas and made sure we had enough of our Trader Joe’s stash to last us until Christmas. And, I also bought almonds so we’d be ready to go.
Y’all.
This is my new favorite kitchen tool! Right next to my Instant Pot.
It is SO EASY to use. It takes literally one minute for the machine to make a batch. And, it is BY FAR the most delicious almond milk ever made. Plus, there are no fillers or shelf stabilizers, etc. It is CLEAN! I am always seeking ways to purify my diet, so ditching the additives that come in shelf stable packages is a yes. The landfills are much happier, too.
Holy Almond Cow!

And then check out the recipes! Go on. Linger. Drool. Fondle the screen. Everything we have made so far is stunningly delicious.
I bought more glass jugs so we can make more varieties and combinations. Mason’s favorite milk is chocolate oat milk so now we can make our own instead of buying endless boxes of Oatly.
A few mornings ago I made a fresh batch of almond milk and then made THIS for David’s breakfast with the leftover nut pulp. I used raw local honey instead of syrup and sugar, and raisins instead of strawberries, plus I threw in some cinnamon. “Stir and enjoy!” is a major understatement!

Rainbow Milk
Back to the rainbow milk, the image at the top of this post. The rainbow comes from yet another one of my new Lensbaby toys catching the lights and colors inside and outside, reflecting onto the pure white of the almond milk in the jug. It is like Leprechaun magic, with the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It is so perfectly good, it really ought to be rainbow milk!
PS – Bonus points if you see the extra Almond Cow cow in my image at the top of the post.
