Are you having fun yet? Waiting.
Waiting.
I’m waiting for more input. And it is ok. Because do you know what? The time will pass, regardless. So I may as well make the most of the time. This is a common theme in my entire blog, have you noticed?
It’s ruinous for the soul to be anxious about the future and miserable in advance of misery, engulfed by anxiety that the things it desires might remain its own until the very end. For such a soul will never be at rest—by longing for things to come it will lose the ability to enjoy present things.

Gerald & Piggie
I was at Target with my daughter yesterday, may-as-welling my way through some errands, and this book title caught my eye. I wonder why? Please watch it to the end, because the message is beautiful, and Gerald and Piggie’s friendship and trust is a delight.
Yes, yes, YES! The best things are worth waiting for. Waiting for more information regarding my Dr. visit two days ago is worth it. This whole surgery/recovery journey is a HUGE wait and will ultimately be worth it.
It doesn’t make waiting easy, (do you ever feel like Gerald?) but it does give perspective on the value and beauty.
There is power in these days. I’m choosing to spend this time well. Writing, talking with family, and living in gratitude for the gifts. Extra yoga, walks, fresh flowers, a favorite dinner for the family. Middle of the night Headspace meditation to settle back into sleep. New dental floss.
There is tremendous value in waiting, in making sure we get this right. There is merit in the care to share it accurately with you.
Eventually, my phone will ring or an email will arrive, giving answers and marking the end of this wait…launching us into the next, valuable wait.
The end may come at Heinz Ketchup pace, but just as every mountain has a top, this wait will have an end.
Thank you for your patience and for holding this space with me. I feel it and it feels amazing!
