Hello! I’ve enjoyed an extended blog savasana, a time for the words to rest and for me to focus on my other goals. It has been glorious to change gears a bit and approach life differently for awhile. James Clear’s March 10 Newsletter had two pieces in it that prompted me to courageously take a writing break, and for this I am grateful. Good lord, welcome my Twilight Zone. I have to introduce you to Willa’s new favorite character and doll – Huggy Wuggy. Do not let the name fool you! We landed on him accidentally one day while trying to find something on YouTube with Mason. As always happens with YouTube, your eye gets sucked into other things off to the sides. On this particular day, we saw a thumbnail very much like the photo at the top of this post – awwww how cute! Mason knew what it was so he had us watch.
With some basics behind us, are you ready to hear some of the fascinating things that happen in our bodies when we sleep? The best thing to do is read Matthew Walker’s book Why We Sleep, but I’ll share some of the MANY things I highlighted while reading. All excerpts below are from Walker’s book.
Inspired by the fun I was having with making lollipop images, I took my camera outside yesterday for some Lensbaby shooting in my yard. We’ve had some colorful and interesting wildflowers and weeds pop up recently, always good photo subjects. The results are not masterpieces (hello, contentment), but for me the joy is in the creation more than the product. In the end, I have a pair of triptychs and an image of three weeds (top image, not a triptych). This inspired me to issue today’s mission, should you choose to accept – The Triptych Challenge.

I teach my kids a lot of life lessons, but an important one that has been showing up more lately is to Be All In. Rarely do we talk about it, we simply live it as a family culture. No wishy-washy, kinda sorta, indecisive, umm maybe stuff. Make choices, stand for something, be yourself, commit – Be All In.
