Giraffe Party

Yesterday we had the COOLEST experience! Willa wanted to do something different for her birthday so I reserved a slot for 6 of us to do an Up-Close Look with the giraffes at the Denver Zoo, our very own giraffe party. Read on to see the photos and fun!

Giraffe Party

At the time of booking, it was going to be only 4 of us from my family, so OF COURSE we invited Jen and Hudson! Willa and Hudson have been zoo pals for a few years now.

Last minute, Lucas was able to get home from college in time so he joined us, too. My whole family was there for the GIRAFFE PARTY!!

Denver Zoo Giraffes

Normally this is an outside experience, but yesterday was too cold for the giraffes to be outside, so we spent the time with them inside their barn. We got to meet and feed (I was the photographer) Heshi, Kipele, and Dobby, ranging in age from 2 to 29. WOW!

Look at how beautiful they are! And their incredible tongues that they wrap around their food, almost like a miniature elephant trunk.

After the giraffe feeding party, we spent time on the carousel together.

Strangely, there was almost no one at the zoo yesterday. On a Saturday. Maybe it was a magical gift made for us, an open space to enjoy family and friends, share gifts, stories, love, and laughter. Lots of laughter! Willa’s giraffe party is going down as one of our best parties ever! Thank you, Denver Zoo, for offering such amazing experiences!
