It is Nature Photography Day! Each year, June 15 is designated by the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) to promote the enjoyment of nature photography, and to explain how images are used to advance the cause of conservation and protect plants, wildlife, and landscapes both locally and globally.
Nature photography is one of my favorite mediums, plus look at where I live – I’m surrounded by beauty right in my own yard!
Go Make Art
Today I’m putting us ALL on assignment. Our mission is to go out and create a new image in nature. Use a phone, camera, whatever you have. Capture something large, small, whatever speaks to you. It doesn’t matter what your skill level is, just go shoot. Maybe your image carries a message, or maybe it simply makes you smile. The only rule is that is must be 100% nature – no human subjects or pets, buildings, etc. We are all making art together today!
I’m giving myself the extra challenge of having everyone at my house participate, including my 5 year old. We’ve got this!
As inspiration for the assignment today, I’m sharing some nature images from my personal portfolio, all images I have not yet shared within this website.
I expect to see something from you! Text or email it to me – and if you don’t know my phone number or email address, it is high time we met. Send me a message through my Contact page so I can get to know you better!
Remember, gifts require risks.
Post to your social media with #NaturePhotographyDay and/or send to me to share here, no matter what day you’re reading this post on. Check back tomorrow to see what we make.
