As the old saying goes…this too shall pass. My family and I are ticking off the days of feeling bad, knowing that each one that goes by is another day closer to feeling great again. Nothing is life is permanent – not the bad or the good. Enjoy every moment of the good and zoom out to look beyond the bad. We’ve got this!
This Too Shall Pass
This song is one of my favorites from OK GO, especially with the video. This illness is so much like a Rube Goldberg machine, delivering up all sorts of random things one after the other, completely unnecessary for getting to the end, but somehow “fun” and “interesting” for its own sake.
For example:
Coughing with a metal plate a 6 screws across the pubic joint really hurts. Think about it. Look at how much downward pressure is put on the pelvis when you cough. Try it – COUGH with your hand on your lower abdomen.
Holy crap, when will it be time to take this thing out??
Another example, itchy feet. Like, what? This morning I woke up with both of my feet and ankles on fire. I took a shower and even that didn’t help. Hours later, I’m better but what’s that for? How is that relevant or necessary? Leave my feet alone!
Weird stuff!
Onward and upward, because this, too, shall pass!
