I’ve been given two strong messages this morning that align with a theme that has been in my face for days. I’m listening, universe.
Message one:
Message two:
Current life theme:
The week since I posted “Be A Rainbow In Someone Else’s Cloud” has been magnificent for me. The purpose of that piece was twofold – for me to recognize and tell my rainbows, and to encourage you to do the same. The reality is that it has turned into a gift that keeps on giving – to me and to everyone you are spreading it to.
I have received so many beautiful, thoughtful, deep messages as a result, people returning the sentiment to me. Phone calls, texts, long emails, poetry. I never expected this and am utterly blown away. I am feeling exactly as I had hoped to make my rainbows feel.
Manifest
These two messages and current life theme are about manifesting what we want, investing in a future of our own design, and spreading feelings through action.
David and I believe strongly in manifesting what we want in life, through action and attitude. It has led us to where we live and what we are doing as family – truly living a life by design. The design is purposeful and opens even more doors as a result.
Tony Robbins is the pro on manifesting what you want in life and the law of attraction – all beautiful and powerful, go read and YouTube and do the work – but I’d like to talk about this differently today. Where Tony focuses on the larger things and taking massive action, I’d like to focus on some smaller things that also matter, especially in regards to creating joy.
Get outside myself
I’ve said that a few times over the last few months. Whenever I’m feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or that negativity is creeping in, I know I need to get outside myself. The best way to bring back the feelings I want is to go give them to others. STAT. My goal is to give to others, but in the giving a little piece is given to myself, too.
Here are some examples that are my go-tos for manifesting joy:
More Love Letters – Write to those in need or nominate someone who could use support. Both are impactful and an immediate boost. In December they had a 12-day campaign that I participated in – wow, was my pen flowing! Reading the stories and sending the letters brought me perspective and set my heart outwards. My attitude followed my action, helping me manifest joy.
Random Acts Of Kindness – These are a sure fire way to get outside myself and give to others. The act of thinking of ideas alone lights up my positivity! RAKs are fun, creative ways to involve the family, and everyone wins. Joy manifested.
Pick up the phone – As in, actually call someone! I’ve been doing more of this lately, telling people how I feel, how they’ve been a rainbow in my life, and expressing my gratitude. It feels so good for them to hear and it feels so good to say. Plus, what if today were the last chance to do so?
Go play – This might sound silly and obvious, but after three years of surgery/recovery/various stages of mobility, it is easy for me to be stuck in the grump of “no, I can’t do that” when my kids ask me to play. When I pause and remember to turn it into an Andventure it ALWAYS works. I modify how I play and they dance right along side me with whatever my current ability is.
We get out, giggle, feel the sun, refill our souls, and reconnect.
We tape exercise ball inflators to feet to make stompy things.
We stay up late, have tickle fights, and figure out how to mount a camera to a bunk bed.
This is action leading the way to attitude – the tiny bit of joy I begin with is given back to me manifold.
Manifesting joy is an important tool for my recovery. I am reminded of this today and am on a mission to manifest even more. Stay tuned!
